Home Sweet Home 3 days

20th December - A long awaited day. It was BALIK RUMAH time !! Early morning around 7am, I happily brought along all my luggages and souvenirs, took a bus from my hall and head towards HK airport. My flight was at 10.50am, I had my breakfast at Mc D before boarding on the Air Asia airplane. Spent almost 99.9% of the 4 H sleeping...... Finally at 3pm, I arrived at LCCT, met with my sisters after my absence for 4months !!

Purposely chose to come back on this date it was my younger sister- Amy's birthday. Taste back some local food like curry lamb, fried ikan ??, malay kuih muih, teh tarik..... At night, we went to The Ship STeakhouse for dinner, I miss their escargot so so much !! Back home, we celebrated Amy's birthday, having the X'MAS tree as the background, we took a lots of photos. Also, I presented her with 3 presents from HK. I think she must be really happy, so do I.

21st Dec - My elder sister, Alice brought Amy and I to Sunway Pyramid to sing K @ redbox and had steamboat as brunch. Really enjoy the time back with them, singing K, snapping photos, chit chatting, shopping and makan-makan. At night, I got to taste my mummy's home cook food... Yummy !! Gonna miss them a lot when I go back HK.

22nd Dec-It was winter solstice festival, glad that I din;t miss it this year. Woke up early morning to go market with my mum, bought curry laksa as my breakfast XD. While I will leave char keow teow, asam laksa, har mee to be tasted in Penang. Evening, went for an hour badminton game with my sisters near our house. At night, aunties, uncles and cousins came and had dinner together, ate lots of Tong Yuen... hahahaha, about 30 biji?kakaka

23rd Dec- Had an outing with my cousins and their childrens. Four kids and a baby, plus 6 adults. We went to Mid Valley as we knew the X'mas decoration there are awesome. Those kids were crazy about those giant sized bears and kept asking for taking photos. The cute little baby boy was happy "gai gai-ING" also. He is really chubby and cute. =) We had our lunch at Yuzu Japanese Restaurant @ Garden.

A month of suffering

Wow... I just realised my last post was more than a month ago.... Haiz, thanks to "second mid terms" and final....

Today, I am officially done with my semester 1 in HKU. Overviewing this month, my driving force to move forward is that I will be reuniting with my family back in Msia very very soon.
This time has not been easy, other than the torturing revision, I somehow stopped my stars-chasing activities.

Within this period, I tried cooking laksa for the first time, tried personal steamboat set from more than three different restaurants with Angel, got my hepatitis booster dose, presentation x 2, completed a poster which is being printed out nicely and published in a very obvious and sharp location. Went SOGO and bought lots and lots of stuff for my sisters. Discovered a very mouth-watering Ngou Beng 牛餅 shop just in vicinity.

Nov 15, the day before I sit continuously for three final in three consecutive days, severe pain in wisdom tooth strikes. OH MY... It was so painful and I just don't understand why it bother me at that "right" time. Wanted to seek for dental consultation but was full and need to wait until the next day, so I ate panadol to relieve my pain, and it works ! Thankfully, yet, the day after I went to see dentist, and had a X-ray scan on my wisdom teeth. T.T all of them are growing sideways, no more rooms for them la in my gum.... I might have to cabut all of them T.T
How painful it will be !!! I know it must be very very painful, but I dare not imagine...
The dentist seriously advised me to cabut the outcoming one....haiz...

Anyway, let's only bother about this later ! After exam finished, went to Mong Kok with Angel to sing K(HKD 85+18) for 4H sing K + brunch buffet. Since only HKD18, so we added the buffet. It was super worth. Lots of food and drinks... again, it seems like I ate and drank a bit too much and ended up again with over bloated stomach and caused unplesant feeling again... Ouch...

SHop around in Mong Kok, bought my first boots only cost HKD 150, cheaper than in Msia.
Also bought bedsheet, iphone cover...etc...Went to Langham Place to have a look at their X'mas decoration which is of Hello Kitty theme.

It is 2.13am now, why am I still awake? Cuz going for "morning" tea very soon, at 2.30am
Good morning !! XD

A visit by VIP from Malaysia + A week with ANGEL

Nov 8th, Daddy is coming !!!
...................................
After all my classes and long wait for daddy, finally at around 5pm, I get to meet with him, he was coming from Guang Zhou that day. I brought him to my hall and then we went for dinner at Westwood. Ate hairy crab !! each for HKD 58. But the other 2 dishes were so expensive, more costly then the crabs, not worth at all ! So touch to meet with daddy after so long T.T
Happily received "gifts" from home and some snacks.

Nov 7th - Went causeway bay with Angel, tried out a Japanese restaurant next to Sogo. 50% off, HKD 36 -beef rice pot.

Nov 9th - Hall photo taking, After that angel and I went to Bayi restaurant for lunch. =) kind of bored with it D, cuz for cheap lunch set, not much choice to choose from. Others better one is so expensive.

Nov 10th - Dinner with Angel after her tuition; at Yee Kei. Ate curry fried chicken rice. =) + Fried shrimp.

Nov 11th - Dinner again with Angel (XD), this time at Yee Ga. Ate fried scallop ramen.

Nov 12th - Met with Angel before her class, have lunch at Yum Beng Shat (Taiwanese-japanese restaurant). Crowded.

Nov 13th - Went causeway bay again with Angel !! XD this time is to shop at SOGO as well, cuz yesterday onward is SOGO anniversary sale. First had lunch at an Indian restaurant. Waiter there was an Indian guy, very nice to Angel, we had some friendly talk with him. Even showing each other's I/C. XD Demanded for a "spicy" curry lamb rice, cuz in the menu they emphasize it is "Not spicy" ...lol Hongkongnese beh tahan pedas la...
Then, we went into Sogo, queued !!! Bought Melody cushion for HKD 70 LESS (only HKD 40) for my sister, and then bought 2 special gifts for my little sis too... XD
For myself, I only bought a shoe, I think is branded one, cost me HKD 168 after discount.

Nov 14th - As planned, we went sing K at Wan Chai. This time, beside Angel, Heather came along too after I persuading her with a single SMS ...XD (easy job? or m I too influential?)
However, 3 of us only get to sing 2H =( so not enough...
HKD 55 inclusive of lunch + 2 drinks. Quite reasonable price la.. Din't get to sing much song this time.... but nevermind la, just have fun lor... Heather sang many Gaga's songs... hahaha
so different she looks that day...
After that, feeling guilty, I asked to leave and rushed back to hall, to start doing my work and revision =(

Starr Fest n Info Day n Sing K

25th -
Starr Fest Day 1 - Opening Ceremony, games & Starrwood
Joined initially, but hald way through the games, felt so bored and left...XD

26th -
Starr Fest Day 2 - Singing Competition - After days and nights of praticing, we brought our awesome performance on stage. Para para sakura, telephone, Sorry Sorry, Sha Long.....
Nice one, I personally think. But unfortunately, other units attracted audience much more due to their costume and props...

27th-
Starr Fest Day 3 - Mass game - Don;t feel like taking part cuz is playing water.. So I went to Causeway Bay after helping to pack souvenir for HKU Info day ( paid HKD40 per hour !!). Very rush, I reached TimeSquare and bought a movie ticket, then walk directionlessly to SOGO, helping my sister to get some biscuit she want from Japan. But I managed. XD

28th-
Starr Fest Day 4 - Bazaar - Only back at around 7++ after packing, so din;t get to help out our unit's preparation of food. Our team is "Hush"/"Harsh". Means "Prawn" and "Potato" in cantonese. The food we were selling is actually some mash potato with different prawn rice crackers... So special...XD Also, we sold beef cube satay, and crysanthenum drink. I enjoyed some chicken satay and red bean mochi from other stalls, but some other food is too expensive lar..=(

29th -
Starr Fest Day 5 - The event for last day of Starr Fest was the High Table Dinner. Rushed back after my Bio lab class at 6.30pm, very very rush. Yet, when I reached my room, they aren't ready to leave as well... Wasted my effort of running so so so quickly and felt as thou I gonna hav a heart attack soon... Wore my newly brought dress from HK G2000, simple but nice =), the dress XP
Sat beside Dhanika and next to Simona, nice chatting with Dhanika about some advices on coping with studies, about some issues related to Malaysia as well... Know better about her =) She is so nice.. hehe

30th -
Right after HTD, me , Angel and Alyssa took a bus to mONG kOK. Guess what? We going for midnight K session from 1am to 6am !! We got down at Mong Kok and walked all the way down to Yau Ma Tei. Along the journey, only I realised how "wonderful" is this place at night, along Nathan Road. Lots of stall selling tasty food, drinks and snacks.. We bought some and eat and I tried a TofuFa with red bean...for HKD 8.. Regret cuz after that, they finally found their desired dessert shop - Xu Liu Shan. Very nice leh their drinks !! So then, is the K session... Well, I only selected less than 10 songs within the 5 hours.. But I sang a lot, cuz I knew how to sing most of the songs they picked. Lots of S.H.E's songs and some canto songs too, thou 2 of them are from mainland. Have fun singing with them, we get closer to each other by then =). There is even a computer with free Wi-Fi access, whereby I can open my fb while waiting for song switching..XD
Ordered 4 special haloween drinks...n 2 coffee for them..
Left at 6am, we walked around and had breakfast at Burger King. Nice croissant with bacon !
Then, took bus back to hall.. It was about 7am when we reached back.I slept for a while, supposingly I have to gather at 8am in campus for Info day helper work. After some time, I was waken up my a phone call, from unknown people, asking me where I was. I replied "Hall". He asked if I had forgotton about Info Day this morning !! OMG, I was late for 20 mins!!,I overslept !! The stupid alarms were set muted !! T.T
This is really bad, terrible impression to them, I think I won;t be able to get any job from HKU next time =(.
Back about I day, I was working at the booth near Haking Wong Podium, a popular entrance to HKU. officially started working at 10am, quite some visitors already arrived by then. My job is mainly mingle around and offer help for direction to visitors, distributing leaflets and promoting talks.... Very tiring..... Repeated saying the directions to many places, I think at least 100 times !! LOL
Had free chicken rice for lunch. Afternoon, the flow of visitors declined significantly. Not as much people came as expected.. They thought there won;t be enough souvenir for everyone, but indeed, at last, we desperately giving aways the souvenir and leaflets, even to those who already got it.... Terrible.. Lastly, making the visitors to fill up survey form was a tough task too.
Exhausted....

31st-
Trip to Mong Kok with Heather after 1pm. We grabbed some tacoyaki, nice drink from Xu Liu San, fried squid and bacon sausage satay there.. Yummy... But oily and fatty...=(
Then, we went into our destination - Mong Kok Centre & New City.. A shopping paradise? Or some commented it as the "Forbidden City"... Some stuffs are cheap, but not all lar.. Just that there are so many choices and beautiful clothes, shoes, bags... you just can't resist the temptation of bringing back home ! Bought myself some clothes, a shoe and a K-zone bag !! Happy but sad... err .. Sad just because really spent too much lar.. how leh.. Also, finally bought Lam Fung Concert DVD, but I not gonna let myself watch it now or next week, 2 mid-terms coming leh !!
No dinner today, had a really full lunch...

Food tasting @ 1st reading week in HK

Had fun singing K with Angel and Isabella inside our room =)

Saturday, Angel asked me for lunch at Sai Wan, we went to Nice restaurant. Heather joined us too.
Food are ok, but not really very tasty or special, perhaps for the price I m paying... XD around 30++

Sunday, Angel brought me to a Xin Jiang restaurant near East Gate of HKU for lunch, tried some different food finally. Also, a fruit yoghurt ! Spent 70+

Monday night, followed Cindy and 5th floor guys to Wah Yen Restaurant. It served so called "Malaysian style" food, I tried a dry curry chicken, indeed is quite tasty except that you just can't demand it to be as spicy as malaysia one. HKD 38

Tuesday- Met with Miguel at TST for the first time, she can be regarded as my online friend, a fans of Jay. Unfortunately, we did not manage to watch the concerts together. I brought her Jay's T-shirt and key-chain that I bought for her last time. She brought me to a shop for lunch, I ordered WuXi pork rib noodle n soya bean drink.. HKD 33... I don't like their noodle, but pork rib is ok lar..

Wednesday - Early morning, around 6am, Sharon and I took taxi to Sun Heng - the famous 3am dim sum.. First time trying it in the real morning, not as crowded and we were the only students/teenage perhaps, other all Ah Pak, Ah Suk, or Ah Sum....XD
Fried Milk don;t taste nice at all, is too cold =(. But luckily we get to eat hot Egg yolk butter bun.. Super yummy.... HKD 37

Thursday - Lunch - seaweed ! Dinner - self cooked noodle; Relative cost = 0.00

Friday - Went down to have lunch with Isabella, had porridge and zhar leung.. I love Zhar Leung !! Is actually fried yau zhar kuai wrapped with cheung fun... Then, we went into a snacks shop, spent a lot there. She kept introduce nice snacks to me and I bought quite a lot, is for my dad to bring back home in Nov, when he come to visit me.. XD.. For dinner, dabao from HoTim, pork chop rice and ate together with some others at pantry.

Saturday - Dinner with Yeh Cher at dunno where..lol but down Westwood lar... Some cheap noodle and red bean ice drink.. HKD 21.. But I don;t really like the noodle, tasteless to me.. hehe
Collected a Haloween candy pack from pigeon hole, is from Sally.. I felt so touch. Brought it along for dinner, and when we going back to hall via westwood, while taking escalator, Yeh Cher made me dropped my candy pack into a narrow slit next to it. I desperately wanna get it back, so went nearby shop to lend a broom, and taking it all the way back and start doing some "memalukan" thingy..lol

Sunday - Cooked paratha for lunch, much crispy than before. Dinner with Sharon at Sai Wan, in a dessert shop. Ordered cheung fun with egg and snowflake dessert... Quite expensive.. HKD 35 (we shared).....

My reading week other than eating, is then STUDY STUDY n STUDY ...=(

first visit to post office and Hebe concert ticket

On tuesday, I walked all the way down along a quiet and strange road, heading towards the Post Office at Kennedy Town. Then I realise I did not prepare envelope for the documents, so I first went to buy envelope. Posted Alice's favourite dress back to her. Then go for lunch in a Vietnam restaurant.

Friday, attended Science Student Ambassador interview. Heather bought me a bun as I don't have time between my classes and the interview. After that, I rushed to Wan Chai to collect Hebe's ticket. After hunting for the place for some time, I finally found Wow music office, which is so near to where I was. Bought a new mouse from digital centre, however I regret. It cost me HKD 89 for just an ordinary looking microsoft optical mouse. I rather pay HKD 10 more for a cute melody mouse which I bought for my sis sometime ago in Olympian City !
Haiz...

Unit HTD and star chasing

Weekdays were dull.... I don't have much appetite for food. Tried the re-opened Ho Tim for tea-time, the fish fillet is so nice, with Japanese sesame dressings plus red bean ice ! Tuesday tried a restaurant at Sai Wan, hkd 30 for a full set, quite nice !

Friday, we had our unit high table dinner at Traders Hotel. It serves as a reunion gathering with ex-unitmates. However, I din't get to know any of them. The food was so so, for the price HKD 200, so not worth it.

Saturday, I went Olympian City with Sharon, to chase after the group of TVB artist from the latest drama,讀心神探. Din't manage to get close to Bosco, however did get autograph from Matthew Ko and another new actress. Took photo with Matthew and Chan Siu Bong, they were nice =). I had a autograph pen which is gonna be with me all time when I chase after more stars later.

Back from there, I received a call from unitmate asking me to join them cheering for Starr Hall in the interhall aquatic meet final. I took a minibus to Stanley Ho Sports Complex for the first time, Starrians lady aquatic team was awesome !! They grab most of the top 3 placing in several events. About 7pm, results were announced and there was prize giving ceremony. Starr Hall lady team won champion for the first time in 10 years!!! Feel so proud and happy for them. As a reward for our support, we got a special made champion Tee shirt to wear on for photo taking and dam cheering.

Sunday, called heather to dine with me at Ho Tim. Met with Zoe and Phoebe from Taiwan, according to them, the food from new Ho Tim are nice. We shared the satay beef rice, true, it tasted well.

Another busy week

27th Nite - Attended Magic Club EXCO interview with 2 others. Before entering, have a nice chat with Simon (Publications Sec). There were 5-6 interviewers, which are the current JONG members (Jong=莊) means executive committee. We introduced ourselves, and asnwered to their situation-based questions, such as are we willing to give up exchange opportunity to show full commitment to the club. And many more.....At last, we gonna hard sell ourselves... Why they wanna choose you...

28th Nite - Attended O-Nite of Starr Hall for us whom skip the O-camp. We learned about Hall's history, wardens, culture, hall songs as hall cheer. Bored...

29th Nite - first HTD of Starr Hall, all hallmates dressed up for the dinner, puting as much make up... But I just do nothing than wearing a dress.. Weird HTD cuz adopted chinese culture, we sat in round table and have chinese cuisine. Speeches were again bored. No one was listening.
Stupid thing is, just because we need to send the guest away, they announced the end of HTD earlier. After we went up rooms, they informed us to go down for the remaining 3 dishes !! STUPID right? But we were not full enough, so we took lots of bowls and plates to claim the 2 dishes - nice pork chop and tofu vege mix. Unfortunately, no more red bean soup.. T.T
We hold a unit meeting and thus we ordered tong shui delivery.. I cost me HKD 20 for a bowl of it.. not really very nice... =( I was assigned as the leader for a small group which will incharge of tee-design for our unit. My group only has one local...=( tough.. but I had made them to come to first discussion on saturday night

30th Nite- Fire alarm was triggered when I was "enjoying" my revision in room. We went down and evacuate to the carpark, wondering what actually happening. Few minutes later, bomba came , police also came... After 20 minutes wait, we were allowed to go back in and I heard that it was because 9th Floor boys play ball in their floor and broke the emergency glass !! STUPID id...iots... Our ghost tour in campus was then postponed to 12am, surprisingly, my roomate was so scared of it and cover her ears everytime the seniors tell a ghost stories...We had some tasks to do in some spot, in a pair of F & M, we need to step into the horrible "haunted" place to sign on a paper that was placed there before hand. .....Some stories were like quite real, some were ..funny.. lol
Untill 2.30am, it ended and we happily took taxis to Sun Heng for 3am dim sum again !! Woohoo
My favourite morning tea place !! Sadly, the place was even crowded cuz next day is national day here. We waited for an hour !! Meanwhile we shared a baked chicken drumstick, very nice !!!
Saw Felicia, Sharon and Joshua , they were back from LKF, can be seen via their costume n make up..LOL. They actually da bao cuz too long to wait for.. Also, met with Li Ling, when can I meet with Eason Chan there? he really frequently go there n eat lor...

1st-Oct
Basically, back from morning tea, I didn;t sleep untill 7.20am this morning !! I was working hard on my readings.. cuz I knew I m not gonna touch on any homework nor revision in the weekend..
Thought I will only wake up at night, but weird weird weird !! I woke up at 12pm +. I only slept for 5 H, and I kind of feeling I had enough sleep.. LOL
Abnormal metabolism in my body liao..While everyone probably enjoying firework performance from the peak for Tsim Tsa Tsui, I stayed in my room, cooked myself paratha n pork ribs..

2nd-Oct
Josephine asked me to go out for dim sum at 11.30am, invited by Malaysian seniors -SHing vee. Yeeling, ser siang, Amanda, Anthony and edward also there. The place is a high class restaurant in causeway bay, comparable to Imbi Palace in Malaysia. The dim sum were quite nice, and the captain gave us on house chinese fungus tong shui, very nice oso.. About HKD 73 per pax.
Then, I rushed to Kowloon Bay for meeting session with Lam Fung. Met with a fan of him in MTR, asking me direction to Mega Box, so we went together by taxi and shared the cost. Surprisingly, at the time 15 minute before the event starts, still not much people as I expected. I can still get to stand at 5th row, which is impossible of is in malaysia. According to them however, consider very crowded... =O
Anyway, feel so great to meet him again, in HK this time ! He is so handsome and sang 2 songs, even came down close to us! Unfortunately, I can';t get to shake his hand and neither getting his autograph. He was so kind, stay a while after the function to sign on his fans new DVD.. But I don;t have them yet =( ouch...
At night, our starr festival group had discussion on unit tee, as a leader, I am the only one coming out with solid idea in soft copy. But luckily, other members are supportive too, at last we decided to use the "superman" logo idea by SK ( evolution of my pentagon (5th F) idea), and word of STARR made by our names. Also, I requested Peter, the only local to take over my place as leader, as he will be much more suitable cuz a lot of local culture and slangs are expected to use in Starr Festival performance..After that, at 1am, Simona asked us to watch a movie - Tong Pak Fu and Chou Hiong together, a comedy.. Till 3am !! Hoho

3rd-Oct
Went to Kowloon Bay again today, this time for HEBE. I first met with Queenie and other fans from Hebe HK Eden forum, and had lunch together at Mc D of Telford Plaza. Then we walked to Star Hall, where the function will be held. Never expect it to be such a grand one, the location is the same as Hebe's concert in November, thou this time juz a 簽唱會. We were so lucky to have middle front rows seat. Just next to the boss' family !! Wau.. can see Hebe very clearly !!
Hebe was so cool, she sang 3 songs to compensatew our loss for not able to have her writing our name on the autograph card. T.T Only birthday lucky ones that day can have their name written by Hebe. I asked Hebe if she remember Malaysia Irreplaceable Fans Club, saying I am from it, she then asked whether I purposely fly over to see her. I said YES.. lol cheated actually
Haiz.. n I again did some stupid mistake, I forget to shake hand with her !! Shit !!
SO I decided to follow others to Hung Hom Harbour Hotel to wait for return of Hebe.. We waited 2 hours there, and can;t get to see her...

I left at 7pm cuz need to rush for another function in Tai Po, a very far place. Today is the final episode for the TVB 9.30pm drama on princess theme. Almost all the actors attended, except Linda and Ma Kwok Ming. I were late by about half an hour, surprisinly the place was damn crowded !! I only get to stand on upper floor, can hardly see the artists.. Later, I went down and get to see them closer, but quite difficult and suffering thou, cuz too hot and crowded... First time seeing Charmaine Sheh, Chan Fala, Wong Hou Yin...and many more other famous keh leh feh ..lol
I left at 11pm, before the events ended cuz scare no more public transport after that. Luckily, I managed to catch the last bus from Hung Hom to my hostel.

Busy & Happy Birthday Week

20th Nite - Magic Club Tea Gathering. Paid HKD 15 and can enjoy learning magic tricks, watched awesome magic performance, ice breaking games and snacks party !!

21st Nite- Asian's nite at St Joseph's restaurant @ Graduate House. Invited by Lee Ling (Malaysian working in Global lounge) to gather for a dinner between Asians. Well, Malaysians made up 70% of the population or more, some from thailand, some from singapore, indonesia and myanmar. We had a western style course meal for free !! Wow

22nd Nite-Mid Autumn Festival Gathering @ St John's Bar. Another awesome gathering organised by our seniors. I really like them !! haha
Had lots of fun and ate lots of different flavour mooncake, thou v din;t play lantern, we did hav some traditional games like musical chair (LOL), HKU traditional game -first impression ...

23rd Nite- My very big day, YES !! I turned 20 officially !! Hmm.. very significant bday in my life cuz is the first time I m celebrating without my family, away from Malaysia. T.T
One big compensation is that I will be watching Jay Chou's concert tonight in Hung Hom with my floormate !! OMG.. can't imagine I will b able to share my bday nite to him...XD

Needless to say, the concert was really awesome, n the best 1 I had ever seen !!
Not forgetting my day time precious memory, Heather brought me together with her "sisters" for a trip to Noah's Ark, a newly established theme park in HK, near Tsing Ma Bridge.

Also, really felt warm receiving bday cards from family (Malaysia), from Wan Jing(UK), from Eden (US) as well as from a Canadian HKU exchange student-Rosalind. Not forgetting my only sms wish (T.T) from Cherry Jane, neglecting the cost she need to pay for oversea messaging !

24 Nite- Again, this night was nothing more special than Jay Chou last show in HK !! I had a biology lab session however till 6.30pm, I just can't make myself focus on the experiment, and kind of ruined it instead. I ended up causing more time delay =(. But, I don't care. I was too excited, can;t wait to watch Jay again !! This time, with a Malaysian HKU senior, sook voon.
Our seats were nearer to stage, but almost 90degree to stage, can hardly see Jay when he plays piano T.T
You juz can;t imagine how talented Jay is, his show was so different from last night, most importantly, tonight special guest was A-Mei !! So So So HIGH we were !! We cheered aloud for fourth encore, but it seems impossible and we left reluctantly after abt 20 mins of prolonged stay.

25th - Early morning, we were kind of being chased out by Hall as they were spraying insecticides. Thus, few of us(floormates), went Central lian xiang lou for morning tea, at 9.30am.
Well, again it was crowded. But not as nice as Sheng Heng I think. They don't have the yellowish yolk bun. I then rushed back to meet the others 100+ international students for departure to Tai Tum Tuk for BBQ. We went in 2 buses, sit with Felicia and Sharon, we chatted a lot about shopping, food... in HK. Play Dai Dee, magic, BBQ, tug-o-war, tricycle rides, glass ball chess,..... Have lots of fun again !! FOR FREE !! haha

26th Nite-After days of"HEA" (cantonese). I decided to spent my day revising. I did !! Wow .. haha
till evening, I had not taken any meals. Cindy (floormate) asked me to go for dinner together. We went down to Westwood and dine in Japanese restaurant. $140++ for 2 of us. Not as nice as Sakae, the $ not so nice too ! I miss Sakae !!

3rd Week of School

Everything starts to settle down and I was getting busier. Hate doing CAES 1801 Essay !
Can't think of a good idea to write on.

Went to collect my HK ID, it only took me about 15 minutes for the whole process.

Had first ever CC tuto in Medical campus, which is 10 minutes bus-distance away
In a group with many pharmacy students, and I am the only non-local. Our topic was- What is Life. Well, a very difficult and debatable topic.

Enjoy playing "Leg-orgs" in our CC, but felt asleep during the first 1.5H of boring lecture.

On Friday night, Heather visited me and we chat a lot on essay and the biotech GE course, until I was called by 5th Floor guys, only then we realise it was 11.10pm !! According to the rules of Starr Hall, no visitors are allowed to stay beyond 11pm. OMG.. we rushed down and signed out. Unfortunately, my name was highlighted. I had a bad feeling. Really, I received a verbal warning for this offense 3 days later. T.T

Is kind of like my first ever warning received in my life. Unacceptable. But no choice, take it easy!! Though I put myself at a higher risk of being kick out the hall next year..... Haiz

First time self-cooking

It has been raining non-stop since friday night. I still made it to Wellcome supermarket with Rosalind to buy ingredients to cook for our dinner.

I bought spare ribs (in a packet of 7), with Lee Kum Kee sauce, as well as indomie and other frozen food. Kay came to visit me as well as Heather. They tried on my food and said it was nice ... Though it will taste better if not so hangus.. But I really enjoy eating.. I miss the taste and I like pork ribs !

Sold my jay chou ticket and met with new friend

Only woke up at 12pm. After skyping and fb, is already time for me to go Central to meet with a girl named Vivi. She was helping her friend to buy Jay Chou ticket from me ( a $280 ticket which I have extra). At first we like wanna leave just after we exchanged our ticket and $, but eventually we started up chatting and it last for half an hour.

We are die hard fans of Jay. She was nice and recommended me to visit a forum in fm 903 whereby there were a group of them "wolf" chatting about jay or any issues around Jay daily, in a post of more than 3000 pages.

Since I was in Central, I decided to have my dinner there as well. My mum thought that today is my Lunar birthday, but actually it is tomorrow, 12/9. But I am treating myself a so called birthday dinner which is quite luxury to me, a lamb shoulder + spaghetti set.( $ 84) So full, I can only finished half the spaghetti and soup, and 2.5 of 3 of the lamb shoulder. What a waste, if in Malaysia, I am sure I will be sharing it.

My HK friend who are suppose to watch concert with me on 23, 24 can;t turn up as her mum enter wad. So sad and feel sorry for her. But I am in troubles, I need to find people to take over her tickets immediately, not much time left to 16/9!!
Luckily, a malaysian senior will be watching with me on 24th, but I still have problem on 23rd show. I really wanna watch on that day, as it is my birthday ! And I feel like upgrading my 480 to 880 tickets too, but I m certain that I do not want to watch alone on that day. Please, some one watch with me !!

Thai Horror Movie

Today suppose to have ghost stories campus tour at night for unit O, but due to rain, the event changed to Movie watching in Sum's room. There were about 20 + of us, all squeezed inside a single room, some sit on the beds, some on the matress on the floor, some even on table !

It was my first time watching horror movie, and luckily with so many people. At least when I screamed, I will not be alone and can hold on each other arm when feeling scared. It was about 5 different stories, I enjoy watching all of them especially the last one. Scary at some scenes, shocking at some scenes, sad at some scenes, funny ast some scenes.....

Luckily I can still sleep well at night...

Have Fun in Unit cooking

All freshman of 4, 5th Floor need to cook specified dishes. There are 3 groups, I am with Isabella and Nathan. Our topics are Tomato,Tofu and 鱔 (Something like eel??) After our classes at 4.30pm, we went down to Shek Tong Zui market. Their pasar is so well organised and big, with 3 floors, it has escalators !! Unlike pasar in Malaysia, pasar pagi closes completely around 11pm and pasar malam only starts about 5pm. Here, you can basically buy food at the most convenient time afternoon after work or school.

Very soon, we gathered all required ingredients for HKD 133 and went back cooking. I stuffed the tofu with fish paste while Isabella was doing on the 鱔. At last, Nathan cooked the fried tomato egg but he partly failed because he did not even add salt to it...

Other group are cooking pork, chicken feet soup, some vege and 田雞,celery and Yong Tou Fu.
Surprisingly all our dishes were very very delicious, especially those by Emily's group. I like the pork meat very much ! Is my first time eating 鱔, and I found it quite nice also.

Aftershock movie + Japanese Dinner

After school, I took bus-MTR to Po Lum, Tseung Kwan O, purposely to watch a movie called Aftershock 唐山大地震. A very sad touching movie recommended by my whole family in Malaysia, they asked me to watch it no matter how. I cried even watching the trailer. Only 8 of us in the cinema, maybe because this movie were shown for quite some time in HK, thats why it is so hard for me to find a cinema that is still showing this.

I really recommend this to everyone, just watch it, you will be touched by the story and perhaps we can learn better how to appreciate what we have with us now. And also, to feel more sympathy to those quake victims and devote our time and money in helping them.

On the way back, I got down the train and take a look of the Tseung Kwan O MTR station, hoping that I would find traces of TVB City, but I can't obviously =(

Just after I reached hall, I followed my unit to Central for japanese dinner buffet, 180 per person. Lot of variety, you just can't finish all of them and utilises all that you had paid, but it's ok for me, as long as I have eaten what I want to and food that worth HKD 180 to me. I like to salmon sashimi especially, so freshy.

Unit dinner again + Room visit

At night, our unit again went out for unit dinner, this time nearby Shek Tong Zui market. Is something like 大排檔. The food were so delicious, I wish I could have eat again.

Back to hall, many freshman were planning to start their room visit of 100 Hours with the 5th Floor man first. Though I did not pass the O camp and not required to do room visit, but I just tried up with Alyssa and Rosalind. We visited Sum's and Zoda room, while simultaneously chat with B.D. also. Nathan and B.D. were initially playing soccer games with the big TV they took from the pantry. We start chatting about Sum's love history, about Shang Hai, Malaysia.... a little bit gam gai at first, but after that is better. As Zoda wanted to prepare for his job interview tomorrow, we left earlier after an hour.

Half day ?!

I only woke up at 2.30pm, when I received a call. Went to the library to do some reading. along with my laptop. Before I back to my hall, went to PHD to buy pizza and take away, only that we get 50% off. I had a mini pizza with soup for HKD 25. Cheap !

Ate it in pantry to enjoy the aircond and watch Princess Is Coming from TVB.

So short a day, just because of the morning tea we went last mid-night till 4am.

Hiking to The Peak

4.30pm, a group of Malaysians and some Indonesians gathered at Haking Wong podium of HKU, preparing for hiking. I didn't know that the trail actually begins in our campus. All the way up the steep slope, we finally reached the starting point of the actual trail from Long Hu Shan (Dragon Tiger Mountain) to THE PEAK. For the first hour, I really felt like I am gonna die soon, I can hardly breath and my sweat wet my whole shirt. I feel like fainting. Thus, I took a rest whenever I see a bench. After the first hour hike, we finally reached the flatter trail and is kind of walking downwards, so is not that demanding anymore. Furthermore, we start getting very nice scenary of the Hong Kong island as well as across Kowloon.
Me and 3 Indonesians

At around 6.15pm, we reached The Peak, and took a group photo !

Then, we proceed to have our reward for the hardwork-Yoghurt icecream in the peak plaza. Our dinner was at Central, Wellington Street. We ordered mostly wantan mee, amazingly there were very spicy chilis which is quite rare in HK and the wantans were so nice and big !

3rd Day

Only had 2 classes today at the same venue, but I misslooked and went to the wrong place. Still wondering why I am the only one until the very last minute?? XD

When I was collecting my student registration card, I met with Heather from Malaysia and had a nice long chat. We had lunch together, signed up for Union Choir which need us to attend "試音" at 3.40pm. It would means that I can't leave school yet although my classes ended at 11.30am. We went to the computer centre to spend our time.

I would said signing up for the Choir was the most shameful thing I have done in HKU. I have zero knowledge on music notes and choir singing. I don't think they will contact me for further confirmation of membership at all.

After we collected our union diary, Heather reminded me about today's course selection workshop at 5pm. Again, I have to stay.

Beatrix and Alex were again there, but another senior from FOS -Hamsa from Pakistan was the one in-charge of giving advice on our course selection. He majoring in biotech while minor in chemistry, kind of opposite to mind.

Keeps raining keeps raining for the whole day ! really hate it.. so leceh

At night, we had fruit session with unit-mates at 10.30pm. Isa.bella and I helped to cut those fruits, we had watermelon, apples, oranges, grapes and bananas. Then, I planned to sleep a short while before we go for morning tea at 2.30am. Yet, I couldn;t sleep. After some long time of cracking my head to think about what topic to write about for my english essay, I finally found a bbetter topic and decided to switch from bullet train development in HK to inductive charging. I just accidentally read an article about it, hopefully it really helps. Thus, I spent 2H + to prepare my essay outline, trying to make it as complete as it could. The number of words even approached the maximum words allowed-1000. I was so satisfied !

Very fast, was 2.30am. My roomate did not follow as she was sick and need to go back home the nnext day morning. Only about half of unitmates turned up. We took taxis to the restaurant, very crowded with other hallmates of different units. Luckily, our floor reps went early to reserve place for us. We ate a lot of dim sum, especially Sally ! haha
The dim sum were very nice !!! So yummy that I really wish I could eat much much more.

Today, by chatting more with the seniors, I hope that our friendship can be enhance. Took pictures with Sally, Cindy and all others as well in group photo. They also asked me a lot on Malaysia's dim sum, and make joke out of the "Malay Kuih" we ate. I prefer the "Fried Milk" and Chun Guen. We ate food of HKD 600++ at last.

When we planned to walk back hall, Sum found a vacant minibus and decided to rent that bus which costs us about HKD 80. Better than taking many taxis. And it was so cool !!

Today's bad wheather caused floor reps to cancel saturday beach trip and change to sing K. Yet, many can't make it and tomorrow will be free day ~

2nd Day

Attended 2 chemistry classes today, found that it is tougher than biology and really needs to pay attention to the lecturers. Unlike in biology class, I felt sleepy !

Then I also attended an English Courses, our professor Patrick Desloge gave us a diagostic test in our first lesson ! According to him, we all failed the test as we do not know how to acknowledge the sources well yet. At the end of the class, he gave us homework which is to prepare our essay outline and email to him before next week. He used iPhone 4 to take every picture of our faces before we left.

My last lesson was Cantonese for Foreign Learner II. Yes, I have basically no problem with speaking Cantonese, but one of the reason I drop the class is because I don't know Yutping粵拼.
It is something like hanyupinyin that helps us to pronounce mandarin word. But somehow I enjoy the class and acted like I do not speak cantonese. LOL

At night, our unit O was having 1st floor meeting. About rules, reminders and taking up posts by freshmen. Me and Isabel.la chose to be Pantry Manager, which will be incharge of replenishing new common stuffs-shopping time !

Then we had mass cleaning of pantry.. really MASS !! It took 20+ of us to clean it for 2 hours !!
Our reward was-watermelon ! LOL

1st September- 1st Day of Uni Life Officially

Had class from 9.30 to about 5pm. Attended Uni maths A class at very beginning of the day. It was still very fundamental concepts being taught on set notation. I went to look for Dr. Chan for approval of course, and he said it might be too easy for CAL student like me and adviced me to take Linear Algebra instead. However, the Dr Lau who is teaching that course said differently, this course is for maths major student, very demanding. Since I am taking it just to make up my graduation requirements, I can choose the simple one. Sweat...

Then attended Bio class, Common Core class on Origin and Evolution of Life. What is LIFE? hehe
interesting, but demanding though. Prof Pointing is the lecturer.

At night, we had Unit Orientation, which include all floormates from 4th and 5th Floor of Starr Hall. We had dinner together in a restaurant opposite Westwood. It was Chew Chou cuisine, very tasty !! We "round table" and introduce ourselves to each other.

Back then, we had ice-breaking games, on Big TV, Pak 7, Beng Bang Wah, Guess Odd, First Impression... Untill about 12am, only we get to sleep. So tired.
Having class at 9.30am again tomorrow.

Merdeka Gathering in HK

Another busy day, I took bus to Wan Chai for my HK Identity Card appointment. The whole process took less than an hour. My thumbprint was again, hard to recognise by the computer scan...haiz... The picture I had taken there was so ugly... And I have to bear with it as long as I am in HK and need ID card. Then, I went to Asian House nearby to collect my Jay Chou ticket, the staffs were nice.

I ate Mc Donald's burger which only cost me about $ 6 + $ 7 of Float. When I was about to take a bus home, Wan Jing called me surprisingly. She was in Lantau Island. But I din't know she had been to Wan Chai this morning itself!

I tried to meet her up at the MTR station -Mei Foo. We chatted for about half an hour and left.
I took MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui for Merdeka Gathering, organised by HKU Malaysian seniors.

There were quite a number of us and we had an personal area for our semi-buffet. The food was nice but a bit too little, yet it cost me the most among all the dinner I had in HK, $ 120 !!
We had "speed date", Big TV games,...etc. The seniors also taught us about some local slang of Cantonese like "Cher", "Sor"=Sorry,...

Then, we went back by taking ferry. So we walked together to the Ferry Pier, passed by the beautiful starwalk along Victoria Harbour. Nice chatting with another 2 new Msian freshman, both in medicine. Charlene and Tze Hui.

I took green minibus for the first time, very scary the way the driver drove. And you must shout at the driver if you want to stop at any station. No fix route for it.

High Table Dinner

Today was another busy day. In the afternoon, met with Heather, a Malaysian who will be doing food and nutritional science. We attended the information session for non-local BSC student for briefing on graduation requirements and course selection advising.

Then, I headed to the dialogue session with alumni and teachers, under the induction programme by CEDARS. There, we sitted within our group and listen to sharing from 3 guest speakers; Dr Fung, Dr Amy and ?? . We were further divided into smaller group and have discussion with 3 of them respectively. Dr Amy shared happily with me that she have many relatives in Malaysia and always used to visit Malaysia. Besides the peers that I already know, the local guy, Wilson joined us today.

At around 6pm, we moved into Loke Yew Hall, seated and wore our green gown again. After a speed briefing by Dr Albert again, we had a photo-taking session with our green robe on. The high table dinner was sort of like the one we see in Harry Potter, also there were 4 rows of table, with the middle table being raised on a platform in front. While the guest speaker gave her speech, we continued to enjoy our meal, (Bread + Russian Soup + Main Course (choice of chiken or salmon with spaghetti), Brownie + Tea). All these are for free, exclusively for induction candidates.

I also managed to meet with 2 new friends, sitting next to me. David from Korea, speak good PuTongHua and he tought me how to write my name in Korean. David and Angel from GuangDong, are both in E & F, another popular course.

My first every high table dinner, I kind of enjoy it as we do know better about each other and taken our first group photo

Shopping + Steamboat = HAPPY

11am, I just managed to catch up bus 970X, as soon as I came down. The bus was heading to Mong Kok. As it uses the cross-harbour tunnel, it cost me more than 10 HKD. I get down of the bus after I see Langham Place, or else I wouldn't know I reaached Mong Kok. I just walked around and entered a shopping mall called PDC (Pioneer Digital Centre). Here, I found some shops selling Office 2010 Home and Student for 1204 HKD , so expensive !!! I have it for RM 300 in Malaysia !!
But no choice and I have to have it because I formatted my computer without having awareness that my copy of Office 2010 might have gone just like tat. What a waste of money, as I only used it for a month. However, I din't buy it first, thinking that I might find cheaper one later.

I moved on to Grand Century Plaza, the one under Royal Plaza Hotel which I used to shop in because I have stayed in the hotel as many times as I visited HONG KONG. After walking through some streets and very long distance bridge, I managed to get myself into the shopping mall. Had lunch in the food court, HKD 32, very full and regreted. Seen many maids having gathering, because today is Sunday !

Bought Conan DVD from Popular and Office 2010 (English Version) from JP Bookshop and got a free membership. Then I wanted to walk back to take bus "home". But since I passed by LangHam Place, I just can't control myself. I walked around the shopping complex which have about 13Floors, bought Lam Fung CD and preorder Hebe's new CD in the CD Warehouse.

At night, Kay and Sharon invited me to join their steamboat party in Starr Hall, 19th Floor's pantry. Their floor is so nice and neat, even their floormates are nicer. When I got back to my floor's pantry, I realised that it was flooding, I wonder why too. Met again with Felicia, Josephine, Joshua, Jeff again; while met with some new friends, like Steven(Indonesia), David, Louise, LC, Yeh Cher, Mabel(HK/Australia), Elsa (Indonesia), ?? "dah lupa "(US). We went up to 24th Floor to have a view of HK night scene.

Orientation for Non-Local Students

Early in the morning, woke up for shower to prepare for today's orientation. Met with a Canadian chinese with hearing disabilities, who is on exchange for a semester at her 3rd year. Went to Loke Yew hall together with Kay and Sharon, met with Heather and entered the hall together. Sat beside a Taiwanese girl who is from Starr Hall, 4 th Floor also !!! So happy. Both she and Rosalind just arrived yesterday night thus I guided them by giving some information about our hall, pantry as well as events available for us.

Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dr. Chou from Student Affairs gave interesting and motivating speeches which all of us enjoyed. There is also a session of global highlights quizes whereby we were exposed to some of the facts on global issues. Next, was a sharing session by 5 current students from different region of the world. Generally, I concluded that University Life = Have Fun ! Even the Deputy said:" If there is a need to skip class, just skip. Go out and explore and have fun !"

After 11, there was a parallel session whereby Non-Jupas students go to Global Lounge for briefing. Then me and Simona (Taiwan girl) , went together to LE6 for lunch and ice-breaking games. We were provided with a set of club sandwiches, drinks and an apple. I lost my apple though =( and one half of the sandwich dropped on the floor ....T.T

We were in a group with 3 Koreans and 6 mainlanders. They are all nice, and all of us speaks mandarin in common ! Even those koreans, one of them is Grace that I met her before in "HOT".
We played BINGO, "line construction" and "act and guess". Before we left, we exchanged our contact and make friends with one another. There is 2 girls from Shang Hai Uni, coming here to finish their last 2 years. While the others 4 mainlanders are guys, 2 of them stayed in Starr Hall too.

At night, I went Westwood with Rosalind, we had dinner at Mc Donalds. Meanwhile, I chat along with a 7 year old local boy, who came alone and ordered a Coke, sitting next to us. He was talkactive and even tell jokes to me. Before he left, he said bye to me and the Mc D old woman staff also chat with me about today's kid. Glad that I know cantonese, I enjoy chatting with new people, especially kids. We then went to Wellcome superstore and bought a pail, sweets and apples.

Tonight, back to the room, is very much noisier, the O'camp group must be having lots of fun.
My laptop fails to load my user profile and I can;t get in to the desktop. I made a hard decision to format it, and restored some of the files which I backed up since 1st August. Thus, unevitably, there is still a major loss of my files and documents. Like my HK checklist and expenses record !!! Huh... the one that cost the most is the lost of my Office 2010 Licenses !! I gotto use back Office 2007 with only 25 uses before it became a reduced functionality mode. I got no choice but to purchase another 3 users package, which will cost me about rm 300 !! =( BAD MOOD

Fulfiling Day

After days in HKU, today is my most enjoyable day. The girl is true, everything will just fall in place, don't worry about making friends.

Afternoon, I went to the Global Lounge hoping to look for Lee Ling but my timing was wrong, it was lunch time. So I turned to HSBC bank, hoping that I can open my account then, queued up for about an hour, yet tak dapat. I gotto leave the queue for a Library Orientation. First, is a workshop by a librarian with some quizzes for us to take up, and I successfully be one of the fastest to answer twice, so I got 2 souvenirs from them. Then, was a library tour. The library is just awesome !!! You can find whatever in here !!! Their services are perfectly great, they even help us to get books that are not available in HKU but in other HK's University. There is a small garden in the library, the cool system of compact storage with high tech sensor, the audio-visual library which you may watch any collections in the library itself, in a comfortable air-conditioned room. Chatted awhile with a local student too.

5.30pm, I attended the First Year Seminar: Connecting with the University and Student. It was a seminar with guests from Student Affairs Department, Dr Chou, Dr Li and a senior. They shares what they know about HKU student's identity and how can we connect with the distinguish alumni of the university. Again, I get to know a guy from United States, California who is a postgraduate in Education, he looks like a Malaysian though. His name is Ray if I am not mistaken ( know too many new friends today and mix up). I explained to him about difference between residential hall and non-residential hall. He wishes me all the best in my undergraduate studies and gave me some advises as a "senior".

Then, I walked down to Chong Yuet Ming Amenities Centre's Restaurant. While I wanted to order food, someone just call by my name, Annie. It was Alex, a Malaysian Year 2 Student who had taken my parent for a campus tour months ago. Was so nice meeting him, he asked me to join dinner together with all others, who appeared to be Malaysian freshman. There was about 14 of us, all of us took turn to chat with each other, and taken each other's contact. The gathering turned up to be so well, thank god I was there, or else I will miss all these friends. Among us also was a Taiwanese, Zoe (E & F) staying in Lady Ho Tung Hall. Then, Kay is from Taylor's A-Level, now taking dentistry, while she stay in Starr Hall as me, but she is in 19th Floor. Then we have Bong, a Sarawakians staying in Swire Hall, doing A & F, Jeff (who just got his new name today) an engineering student staying in Simon Hall. Heather is in the same faculty as me, but she will be doing nutritional science, yet our overall selected courses might have some clashes. She is in the far far away Wei Lun Hall, while Joshua, Josephine and Felicia(E & F) are in Sun.... Hall. Then the guy which join in late is Thousand, which is the first malaysian to be admitted into IBGM degree. A future CEO, taken down all our details and contact, wears a very formal attire. We happily chat about taiwan, about secondary school life ( OMG, theirs are so crazy and scary I would say), about the university, about Cantonese, about our halls. Around 10, we left and some of us who stay nearby walk back together. Luckily, or else I got to walk back alone in the middle of the night. Josephine also guided me the way to Westwood, where there are many shops and a shopping mall. They mostly get themselves a fan, to replace the use of air-cond which we will be charge on every usage. I think I shall have one too.

I followed Kay and Zoe to Lady Ho Tung Hall, to visit Kay's friend- Sharon in 4th Floor. She invited us to her room, which I found to be exactly the same as Starr Hall's room. We also set a time to meet tomorrow morning and walk to the campus together for non-local students orientation. Back in my room, I created a facebook page for our group as HKU Malaysian freshman as requested, hope that we can have starting our new friendship that can last for live long here.

Finally, I don;t need to attend functions alone !! Yoohoo !!

First Three Days in HKU alone

Monday, I was alone now in HK. My sister accompanied me back to my hall early in the morning. We met with an Indian-Dhannika who live next next door to me, who is also a Malaysian !! So happy. Then, I went to look for a professor in department of chemistry, Dr Chan to seek his approval for my selected course. He was so nice and helped me lot. Unfortunately, I still not managed to finish my course selection and finalise it before the deadline at 4pm. Nevermind, just wait till the +/drop period. Haiz.. I got most of my courses TN, means not approved to take cuz pre-requisite not met. In the afternoon, met with students from the same peer group with me. Erica, from BeiJing is our SII. While I got to know 3 others, 2 from Mainland China - Gao Wen Yu and Zhao Ya Ni, and one local boy - Tony Chan. Erica stays in the same hall as me, while two others staying in Simon and Swire hall. I also attended a Health Orientation Talk in English session and got to know more about the University's Health Services. I also met and chat along with a Korean girl call Grace. I got myself vaccinated against 'Diphtheria" and Tetanus. Then, I moved on for a free dental check, plus free gits including a big bottle of listerine, toothpaste and toothbrush. Then, I took bus to Hung Hum, then to Tou Gua Wan, just to collect some lost-and-found items and my camera charger which I left in the hotel. It was raining and I got down from the bus at a wrong place, it took me half an hour to walk to my destination and my umbrella was spoiled due to the strong wind ! When I am back in my room, I entered the pantry and saw Sally, who is my Floor's assistant Floor leader. She introduced the floor's facilities to me and rules, also telling me to reserve my nights from Sept 1 onwards for 2 weeks for our floor orientation.

Though I realise my room-mate had already check-in, yet I did not met with her until this morning. Early morning, she got up to go for her O' camp, a really harsh camp then last from 6-2am. We din't get to chat much but I know that she, Isabella also enjoy TVBs drama, that is good enough. Tuesday, I walked around in Bonham Road, went into supermarket and convenient store to buy some snacks and washing detergent. I took away a set of "PHD" spaghetti with soup, costed me only HKD 25, and ate it in my pantry. A group of student from O'camp entered and introduce themselves nicely to me. They were shocked and feel weird because I mentioned that I don;t feel really cold in the "freezing" pantry room. Especially after knowing that I am from Malaysia. Met with the group's mummy-Joyce and daddy-Alan. Also there is an auntie and one girl who live in the same floor as me. Had maggie mee as my dinner.

Wednesday, I attended the Inauguration Ceremony held at HKU's oldest building -Loke Yew Hall. Although reaching half an hour earlier, there is already long queue to enter. Many mainlanders I found, very few are locals. Wearing a formal pant suit with the stupid court shoe, standing and waiting under the hot weather, I really hate it. Saw Professor Chye in the procession with Vice-Chancellor of HKU, Prof. Lap Chee Tsui. I also worn the green robe for the first time in my life - officially marks the identity of me as HKU undergraduate. At night, I just had dinner in Ho Tim Hall, just next to my hall.

Farewell Trip in HK

I was on MAS 2-5-2 alone, sitting next to a KFC man, whom hairs and beard perfectly white. He only sleep or read, and ate an ice-cream. A guilou family next to my seat, had a little baby with them, so chubby and cute. I happily selected all songs in Jay's THE ERA album and S.H.E's SHERO into my jukebox. At the same time, my mum and sister were flying with Air Asia, approaching to the same destination, HK airport.

We took a hotel limousine to my hall, Starr Hall directly from airport. We checked around 4pm and I got Room 410A. Haiz... missing the grand-wide-sea-view, yet I am still able to view part of the sea, but mostly blocked by those skyscrapers. Basically the room is quite ok, the spaces are sufficient enough. We unpacked a little and left for Tsim Tsha Tshui -郎豪坊. OMG you can imagine how crowded it is, although it has many floors, but every places in it were crowded. We hardly find a seat in food court, while most of the restaurants were really a long queue.

We stayed in a new 4-star hotel, at 土瓜湾. Very comfortable place. On Friday morning, we had DIM SUM together with 4 others who came along with us, at Mong Kok. Then I took bus to my HKU to do registration. Bringing along my laptop and heavy bag with files, I walked up and down, getting lost in the huge campus area. Met with a Singaporean, taking Arts while register. Visited Beatrix in global lounge, went to Cedars and say hi to the staff. Then to my faculty, took the registration pack and handbook, to library to activate my portal account.

PART 2-
Then, we met with a Professor, Malaysian who is an associate Dean in HKU, Department of Biological Science. She is my mum's high schoolmates, though they do not know much about each other and never meet for some time. She was friendly and offer her help to me. She drove us to my hall as we were carrying lots of stuff. She brought us to her office before that, which is actually a lab, division of plant molecular biology, whereby 5-6 postgraduate students were under her guidance. I then looked into the course selection using my laptop in my room, the deadline is next Monday, yet I do not manage to read thoroughly the handbook on course selection advises. I just chosen some core courses in chemistry as well as biotechnology, and left for dinner at Causeway Bay. Again, it was so so crowded over there, until you can hardly walk. We moved on to a restaurant called The Modern Toilet. It is a toilet-theme based restaurant, they don't serve you FRESH from their toilet, DON'T WORRY. But they serve the dishes in MINI "toilet bowls", "basin","toilet bowl cover"...... I thought their food will be made all into faeces-like or urine-like look, but I am wrong. We ate the buffet, free flow of cakes, ice-cream and salads, at around 90 HKD per person.

Next Day, on Saturday, we visited Lamma Island together with the other four. We took a ferry from Central to 榕樹灣. We walked and shop in those small local shops, but did not walk to the beaches. After passing by the Tian Hou Temple, we turned back and had lunch in Man Fung Seafood Restaurant, the place where my idol Raymond Lam first main casting show-美味情緣.
Well, with all girls and only 1 guy there, we do not know how to order seafood... a bit hectic. I still prefer Malaysian style seafood, cheap and lots of variety. Then, at night we went for a dinner to meet with my dad's HK friends to ensure that I will be "taken care of" during my stay in HK. We again met with the very old yet still healthy and strong (I hope he will always be) - Zheung Pak Pak(張伯伯). He still working and used to be MRT expert as he always travel on MRT. He is acting president of many societies in HK, including Elderly Welfare Association. Besides, was 潘醫師, she was another superwoman. Though she is old, yet still operating a clinic on her own and teaches Chinese Medicine Classes. Then, were 4 people from a family, Mr. and Mrs. Yip, and their son and daughter, Joe and Joanne. They all treat us well, and we feel bad for troubling them to travel all over from their living places to Mong Kok, just for us.

Sunday morning, me and my sis again went for swimming in our hotel. Only on the next day when is time to pack, only I realise I actually threw my swimming suit together with the lend towel into the laundry bin. Luckily, the housekeeper found it for me. We planned to shop in Citygate, Tung Chung. But when we arrived at the MRT station there, we were attracted by the advertisement to invite us for a TRY with Ngong Ping 360. It is a cable car journey, across the sea and mountain, from Tung Chung island, to Lantau island, the place where the airport and Lantau Big Buddha Statue are located. We upgrade to crystal cabin, whereby the floor of the cabin is transparent and we are able to look down through it and experience the feeling of standing in the middle of the air. If not because we were sharing cabin with other group of 4, I would really like to sleep on the glass floor. We shop for a while in Ngong Ping Village then back to Tung Chung. As included in the package were a 4D movie ticket, free meal/coupon ..etc for use in Terminal 2 , airport, we then took bus to Terminal 2. Watched a 4D Happy Feet, it makes me think of years ago, I watched this movie with yingqin, and other high school gang members.

After that only we shop at Citygate, the only place in HK where branded shop offers all year round discount up to 80%. I get myself a hello kitty croc which is about half price as in Malaysia and a titus watch. Mum got a coach bag for herself too. We moved on to Olympian City to have dinner. The place where most TVB functions were held here.

BYE, MALAYSIA

Woo..... Time flies, 8hours later I will be sitting in Msia airline's plane seat alone, heading to HK airport. Though my mum and sister are following me, but they are on cathay.

I will miss a lot of thing here, especially missing home and family. Besides, I will miss all the cheap yet tasty food here, miss DRIVING, miss Astro on Demand, miss COOKING, miss SEAFOOD, miss Mhiezi and Coke, miss Pavillion, .......... AND miss my friends, my high school gang, my cherries, and many more.

Haiz,... weird feeling I am having now. Maybe I become numb in feeling. Enough of crying, enough of emo, enough of worrying, now I am left with excitation.

Thanks to everyone who had helped me in gaining my admission to HKU, thanks Mr. Siva and Ms Chong from TarCollege whom wrote me reference letters, thanks to Mr. Hoo for making me enjoy physics and able to scored an extra A for a better advantage. Farewell dinner with family

My parents invited all family members for my farewell dinner at Chong Fatt Seafood Restaurant, Genting Klang. What a mouth-watering and luxurious dinner. We ordered all dishes variant possible, got prawn, pork rib, 乳猪,鹅掌花腩褒,fish, vege, fried tofu, Peking duck, noodles, 涡饼 and 西米露, plus 2 red wine. There were 15 of us and we had it in a room with karaoke.

Between dishes, we grab time to take picture with everyone to capture some good memory. While my mum and one of my auntie used to sing old english songs to entertain us. Jay Chou's songs were played the most as I just simply select to let it play with his vocal on.

I wanna say thank you to my parents who offered us this grand dinner, thank you to my grandma whom support and love me all the time, thank you to my uncles and aunties whom gave me support and advices, as well as ang pao =), thanks to my siblings and cousins too !
Just as the lyric of "Nothing Ever Changes", I am just leaving for some time to explore the outside world, I will be back and still, with love to all of you. *muaks*

Mamak farewell

Friday night, again I had a gathering with my high school gang. Unfortunately, our badminton plan as well as brogga hill plan failed. It seems like we are lacking of a good event plannner. In the afternoon, Eden had reached my house and we went for another badminton match, this time with both my sisters along. We had fun playing double and also take turn to play single.

After 6pm, we met up with Ying Qin who was already waiting for us in the mamak shop- Nisma Curry House nearby my house. While Wan Jing managed to join us soon later after her work. Eden's brilliantly suggested us to order few types of ROTI after we spent so much time again on the menu. At last, we ordered ROTI tissue, milo, tampal, boom, pisang and sardin. Roti milo is weird; roti tampal is juz like roti telur, roti tissue here is bit thick, roti sardin is hard to eat, roti pisang is so so , roti boom is still the best ! The waiter must have been curious of whether we are non-malaysians, or can four of us finish the 6 roti? Is it for bungkus? LOL

After eating, we started photo-shooting. We took out our own camera and started to aim our target. Canon camera is fun in such a way that colour swap functions fit really perfect with eden.
Before we left, they gave me a card(?) , with beautiful Malaysia and HK map on it, indicating me flying over to HK. While Wan Jing gave me a scarf as present. I would say that I really appreciate everything you all gave me and have done for me. I was just joking about the incompleteness of the map, haha don't take it too serious my dear friends. THANK YOU =)

Looking forward for our next gathering, hope it won't be too long away.

While today, I had lunch with my siblings and mum in KURA, a fine japanese dining in One World Hotel. Then, we moved on to Mid Valley for a show called -The Jade and The Pearl, casting Raymond Lam, Joey Yoong, Charlene and Wong Zho Lam. It is a comedy and a love movie. Nice and funny, but I would say if not because of Raymond Lam, I will not ever notice or thinking of watching it. Yet, it seems that my sister enjoy the movie and kept talking about the scenes of the movie after that.

Busy

Yesterday, my parents and I invited a Malaysian senior from HKU, Alex for a dinner session in Ulu Kelang. He brought my parents for HKU campus tour last June, and thus we wish to treat him a dinner as our appreciation to his hard work. On the other hand, is actually our precious time to ask him lots of question and to have him answering our curiosity regarding life in HKU, about bank account, phone card, transport, lessons, orientation...As usual, he was nice and answer to all our questions while we enjoying our dinner - Creamy butter crab + Gam Heung Crab. After we took a group photo, we then sent him back home in Cheras.

While today night, again is an anticipating moment for us as today is Thursday - Mhiezi Day, and we were visiting my aunt's house. We get to take a look at my fourth cousin's 2 months old son, COKE. OMG , he is so so so chubby and doesnt look like a 2 months baby, but 4 months old. And, again we had fun with the cute little Mhiezi, already learnt to identify us as her "aunt", make us even happier. Met with my uncle auntie, all 6 cousins, 4 nieces, and a nephew, just missing another niece and nephew. I will miss you all !! Especially Mhiezi and Coke, by next year, two of them must have changed a lot, hopefully Mhiezi will still recognise me !!! You are too cute to be forget and I will not as you are all around me as my wallpapers, screensavers,..... LOL

Problematic

Sunday evening, we left home for Pavilion to shop for camera and handphone, for me and my sis respectively.

I had finally chosen Canon D. Ixus 210 touch screen camera, this will be my first personally-owned camera. Meanwhile, my dad and sis went to the S.E phone store to purchase her chosen phone, Elm. Amazingly, my sister found several pictures of others on vacation in the new memory card, which they took out in front of us from the package. Weird. We complained and they reissue us a new memory card.

Then, my sister found again another big problem - the phone was being used, not for testing solely. There is about 100 or more unknown contact in the phone memory. We were being cheated as we are suppose to get a new phone, even the sticker on the box stated " Avoid if seal is broken". How can this problem arise? Unfortunately, we have reach home. So, we decided to visit the store again tomorow to ask for refund as we do not trust the store anymore.

The supervisor, a chinese claimed that they have investigated out the problem, the cause is a newly-employed staff whom is caught from CCTV, that she actually took out the phone from the bottom of the box and use it. We do not know much in details, as well as what action was taken against her. But we are very much dissapointed, who will expect a authorised store in Pavilion to become such an unreliable source of goods?

Eeventually, we bought the phone from KLCC S.E store, which is the authorised service centre, and not dealer shop. We even got a cheaper offer ! The phone-buying issue settled, but we hope that S.E or the dealer will take note of the problem and be more alert.

Precious Time with Secondary School Gang

Today very happy, really happy.

After our badminton/mamak outing on last Friday failed, we immediately plan for another gathering on 6th August. Sadly, one of our objectives of the gathering-badminton match failed again as the time is not suitable ( min of 2H play).

I was so anticipated before this gathering. Afternoon, Eden took bus to my house for the first time, to spend her time with me before going for the dinner at 7pm. We decided to go for badminton in Sinamex badminton court, a "luxurious" court near my house. We played from 4.10-5.20pm, costing us RM 13. Together with my younger sister, I believe we enjoy the games. I would say that we are equally "good", while my sister performed well today. =)

After that, I managed to bath before I leave home for dinner with my gang. "Picking up" Wan Jing at her working place, we then drove towards Station One Cafe near Summit Square. Amazingly, I followed up Ying Qin's car and I just merely followed her car, without realising that 3 of us were all on illegal way. She led us to the back-lane parking lots, whereby three of our cars park one-by-one, and not forgetting Joanne's car just in front of us. Siew Teng came with Ying Qin and I feel really glad to meet her before she leave for Kelantan tomorrow.

6 of us took some time to order, as usual. I think we are all not good in decision making. LOL
The tauke of Station 1 serve us well. I ordered a salad fried chicken rice, which is quite tasty and crispy, plus a really SWEET ice honey drink. We chat along very soon and in every topics I would say. Nice to recall about our secondary school life, about recent happenings of teachers and other schoolmates, about our 'status", and photo-snapping.

And without Eden's knowing, we have actually plan over her birthday celebration on facebook for some time. Successfully we had well covered the case that we actually prepared a cake for her. Sadly, when the waiter bring out the cake, with candles lighted. The candles put off !! Oh ..
Eden surprises seems getting lesser. We asked Eden to pull out the 2 burned candles from the side of the cake, then Joanne suggested me to paint some cream on her cheek. Unfortunately, she reacted so fast and took a little revenge on me. While Ying Qin also kena from Joanne.

We made call out to Pui Mei and Shuh Huey to complaint about their absence. Hahahaha
Bee Chan was able to join us mid-way. We moved to mamak stall after some time as we already spent about 3 hours there. The mamak stall, claimed to be Joanne's one is just nearby. We ordered drinks and a naan. Continue chatting. About work, about school, about colleagues, about old friends, about teachers, about future, about boys(by Bee Chan)!!

We eventually left around 11.45pm, planning again for another Brogga Hill's outing before most of us go oversea. We were also shooting photos on timer at the back-lane.

Wonder when we will meet again. But I do appreciate our friendship very much. Please do keep in touch with me although I might be far away geografically from you all next time. =)

Fulfilling Weekends

Yesterday, was our dream-come-true day. After months of waiting, finally we get our cousin's approval to bring her cute little girl for an outing. We first arrived at our uncle's house and waited for another cousin of us, Yoko who will follow us along. At there, we have some wonderful moments with another 1-year old baby.

Later, we picked up the star of the day - Michi (Mhiezi) from her babysitter's house. OMG !!
She is super duper cute !! On the way to Jusco Kepong, she have been so talkactive and kept fulfilling our dream by addressing us as "姨”(Auntie) or "婆”(granny) or "姐姐”(sister). Once she reached Jusco, she became even cheerful and hyperactive. We first have our dinner at a HongKong style restaurant, while our attentions have all given to Michi.

She had her porridge too, fed by her aunt. Just after she finished, she looked at the empty bowl and happily cheer, she raised her hands up and said Yeah , clapping for herself too. What a cute act. She likes to walk, just 1.5 yrs old, yet walking very fast. She understand what we says, when we ask her to kiss on our cheek, she does; kiss on mouth, she does. When we ask her if she want us to bring her for ride or merry-go-round, she node her head. When we ask her to eat slowly, she node her head. When we ask her to address us, she does with her sweet voice.

When we were approaching the playground, her mood reached the triump, cheering again and smiled happily. We asked her opinion before putting her for each ride, as she really clever in displaying her thoughts and will. However, on almost every ride, she will shake her head and indicates us to carry her out of the ride.

Happy time always passes by speedly, is time for us to leave and send her back to babysitter. According to my sis, Michi really enjoyed the outing and reluctantly leave her while she send her back.

Tonight, me and my family went to The Ship at Jalan Sultan Ismail to have dinner. We ordered 2 dozens garlic-baked escargots, lamb rack, oysters , mushroom soup, tiger prawns and many more. So fulfulling. We took picture with Daddy because we are celebrating in advance, his birthday (4th August).

While we did not prepare any present for him yet, he ordered a set dinner which have THE SHIP mug as his gift. =)
